I am the pastor of Maplewood Church in Sedalia, Missouri, and I have known Mike and Betty Morris for almost 10 years, I believe. I don't think that either of us took note of when we met, but he remarked on the occasion of our meeting that our time together had ministered to him, and I remarked the same to our people the following Sunday. That began a partnership in ministry that has evolved from our helping Mike at the Missouri State Fair evangelism tent eventually to our church's supporting financially the ministry of Mike Morris.
Every year our church has a Family Camp in the spring, and Mike and Betty have joined us for that camp each year and to lead the children's ministry aspect of it. I do not believe that our church has any missionaries that we respect any more than Mike and Betty Morris. They have proven themselves to be trustworthy in every area of life, and they faithfully minister for the Lord Jesus as well.
I have known, I believe, three men who have what seems to be a strong gift of evangelism. Mike is one of them, and he has seen the Lord work through him many times. He has sought to train others and has given them a place to practice the art of evangelism.
One Sunday in our worship service, I asked Mike to share the Gospel by using the Wordless Book -- An evangelism tool that Child Evangelism Fellowship uses. He presented the Gospel that morning just as clearly as he has done tens of thousands of times on dozens and dozens of midways.
Now the Lord has called Mike and Betty to a new ministry, and it will be a blessing for Maplewood Church to be a part of that ministry, and it will be a blessing for Maplewood Church to be a part of that ministry. I believe it will be a blessing to you if the Lord leads you to be involved in it as well. As a pastor who has known him and observed him, I want to assure any reader of this letter that any funds entrusted to him will be carefully and honorably used to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
