We received this in an email from a father in Oklahoma:
My son is serving with our military in Iraq. He leads a unit of twelve men. He is working in a very hostile area. A couple of weeks ago we were able to send him a package with 5 of your soccer balls. The next day they rolled into a village that was very dark and unaccepting of their presence. It was a very tense situation. He told me he reached in and pulled out one of the soccer balls and rolled it to a young boy. As soon as the boy picked it up a large smile came across his face and my son said the whole temperament of the village changed and he could feel God at work. He felt as though the whole outcome of their visit to that village was changed due to one little ball. He is unable to use it to share the plan of salvation, but his prayer is that someone will pass through the village, pick up the ball and be able to share what Christ has done for each and everyone. After this story, of course through my tears, he said..."Dad, send as many of those balls as you can." I know you will continue to hear from me as our funds become available. Thank You...God blesses us. I am so glad I picked up the first ball at the Southern Baptist Convention several years ago, never knowing how God would use it, maybe to save my son's life. Please do pray for him.
If you feel God leading you to donate for soccer balls to soldiers make checks payable to CEMI, Rt. 1 Box 115, Moundville, MO 64771. Please be sure to designate "Soldiers" in the memo line or on a note.
