The soccer ball (of many colors) was given to the person who scored highest on my first English exam. As you know, I am teaching English in ******* , a particularly tough village that has rejected the gospel on the two previous attempts to evangelize it by Mexican Christians. A home was burned to the ground where the JESUS FILM was shown, and on the second attempt the minister was beaten to the ground and run out of town. The Lord has put this village on our hearts to reach with the gospel but realize previous strategies have failed and we're using friendship evangelism - friendship first then evangelize second. So the English is working good to build up relationships and establish confidence with about 10 men and 6 teenagers.
There were two that scored the same highest score, so I gave the ball to one with the promise that I would give the other student one soon. Then I said that soon I would tell them a marvelous story about that ball, that it was very special and it would change some of their lives. As of yet I have not felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to share the story because it is simply NOT YET TIME. That time will come soon, I am certain and I know the Holy Spirit will let me know just when. -Missionary
