Mike and Betty Morris - Founders
Mike and Betty are seeking to serve the Lord through the ministry of Childrens Evangelistic Ministries, Inc., which they founded in 2004. They had served with Child Evangelism Fellowship® Inc. (CEF) for 20 years in many areas of ministry. During this time they were involved in teaching children's Bible clubs, teacher training of youth and adults in how to evangelize children, and shared the Gospel "face to face" at fairs and festivals. During the time they were involved in CEF, Mike and Betty took several weeks of Children's Ministries Institute® training.
Mike and Betty have three sons: Josh, who serves in the Navy on a nuclear powered submarine; Tim, who is in his fourth year of college; and Joel, a student at Calvary Christian School in Nevada. Betty is secretary at Calvary Baptist Church and Calvary Christian School, and teaches one class. As of January 1, 2004, Mike will be working full time for CEMI, raising funds and helping with the development of evangelistic films for children. An area that Mike likes to do has been face to face evangelism. However for the last ten years his burden has been to evangelize children through mass media.
Mike accepted Christ at the age of 33 and has felt the Lord's call on his life ever since. Betty accepted Christ at the age of 11. She was one of the "original bus children" of Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada, and understands the importance of God's children reaching out to the lost children in their area. All three of Mike & Betty's sons accepted the Lord as Savior by the age of four.
In 1997 Mike introduced the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International to the concept of using the Wordless Book in sharing the Gospel. They in turn adapted it to the Wordless Walking Stick (a yardstick with the colored beads of gold, black, red, white, and green) as a tool to share the Gospel at farm shows. They gave a walking stick to each one who heard the Gospel presentation at their booths. Since 1997 they have given away over 600,000 walking sticks all over the United States and some parts of the world.
Recently Mike attended an evangelism conference and heard a story about a fisherman in England. The fisherman saw an excursion boat going up a river at night. The boat started sinking, and many people were lost and drowned. The fisherman on the bank took his rowboat out and went to rescue the folks in the river. His rowboat was soon filled and as he began to row away he was heard groaning, "Oh, God! Oh, God! Oh, God! I wish I had a bigger boat!" This is the way Mike & Betty feel. Their prayer is that with this evangelistic ministry they are building a much bigger boat to reach the lost children of the world.

Sincerely in Christ,
Mike and Betty
